Russna Kaur is a highly talented artist residing and creating in Vancouver, Canada. With a Masters of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University of Art + Design and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a studio specialization from the University of Waterloo, Kaur's work explores the intricate relationship between personal and cultural histories and how they can be conveyed through the medium of painting.

Through the use of mixed media, digital sketches, text, and vibrant color schemes, Kaur creates large-scale, multi-surface paintings that provide a deep and complex narrative that speaks to both personal and cultural history. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, including the "Holding a line in your hand" at Kamloops Art Gallery, "Leaning Out of Windows" at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, and "Veil of tears" at Trapp Projects, Vancouver. Kaur was also commissioned to create an artwork for the second installment of the Boren Banner Series, a public art initiative at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle.

In addition to her exhibitions, Kaur has been recognized for her exceptional talent and contributions to the arts with numerous awards and scholarships, including the Takao Tanabe Painting Prize, the IDEA Art Award, and the Gathie Falk Visual Arts Scholarship. She has also been an artist-in-residence at the Burrard Arts Foundation and received the Centrum Emerging Artist Residency in Port Townsend, Washington.

Kaur's work is a testament to the power of art as a medium for expressing complex emotions, personal and cultural histories, and providing a unique perspective on the world around us. Her contributions to the art world have solidified her reputation as an exceptional artist and visionary thinker.
